great weekend. sunday was joey-o's coming out of sorts. his TEMPTATION party at apex was a blast and the *group* had many parts in the preparation. of course it involved a lot of NOT sleeping too!

i did more than one party this weekend. sunday was the most being the most interesting, however. i'm glad that i'm more and more able to be out and about and socialize without worry. not that i should in the first place, but i've come a long way in general. there was a little pre-lizard lounge event that happened right during the very beginning of the TEMPTATION party. me and josh decided to visit. rob harris was spinning so i knew it would be worthwhile nonetheless. the *sketchies* were out in full force! i paid no mind and just danced with the boys (david, sean, et. al.). 'nuff said! anyway -- after the TEMPTATION party it was well after midnight by the time i made my way back to lizard lounge -- i was more than exhausted by this time. luckily i saw rolando and kainoa from work. we hung out for a bit and then got bored. thank god rolando was able to give me a ride back home. i don't know how i would've made it otherwise.

random thought: its kinda scary hearing new cover versions of early 90s club songs - songs youd never ever think about. case in point, "touch me (all night long)" by cathy dennis. it came out right after college for me. it was and still is a fun song! geez i feel old.

still here. still awake. still being a computer nerd! hey -- i put in a load of laundry and cleaned up the kitchen. that was some sort of productivity, right?

tonight was our impromptu *house meeting* with the roomies. i'm actually quite glad that we've come together as such. i'm sure we'll become GREAT friends in the long run. tonight -- we just chatted while i popped in my new cher dvd and revisited an old erasure dvd. now how GAY is that?
oh yeah -- before i forget ... crazy week this week at work. for some reason, i just stress out big time over getting the station's payroll done in time. this past monday, i was sort of behind because i got lazy last week. come monday -- after a full weekend of doing a whole lot of NOTHING and not sleeping to boot, i kept getting sidetracked getting my monday task at hand done. the afternoon came and went and the inclement weather rolled in. delays at the airport ensued, and i was, of course, caught up in it ... further delaying my payroll duties. after everything settled down around 11:30 or so, i noticed how quiet it got in the office. lies! everyone left! you see, my office has a window in it and i normally see what's going on in the operations area. because we recently got a visit from the fire marshall and got cited for having a blocked walkway - the ping pong table was folded up and covered my window. oh well -- it was too late for me to take a bus home so i just stayed on and kept working. i ended up finishing payroll sometime after 1:00am. after that, i attempted to tackle the paperwork that kept piling on my desk. i paid some of the station's bills. i did a few expense reports. i muddled around the network cleaning up. lo and behold -- 4:45am and some of the morning shift arrives. i play it off as if i just got in. yeah, right! come 5:30 -- i was just too damned loopy. i had to go. i somehow stumbled home after the first metrobus to the city and walked into the house around 7:00am. the roommates and friends apparently were worried sick that i wasn't around. i just went up to my room and fell asleep. that is to say, fell asleep for the next 24 hours! sheesh. now -- talk about MESS!
the weather was nice this evening, so after work i decided to head on down to tower records and see what was up in music and stuff. had dinner at baja fresh. yummy! walked on down a little bit to the bank. noticed how they opened up a cafe asia on i street. it looked cool. i remember going to the one in rosslyn and noticing how chi-chi and yuppie and STRAIGHT it was. kinda new for me in all aspects (think *sex and the city* in dc). anyway -- took a cab home and drove on down by the monuments. we came upon the new world war ii memorial and i asked the driver what it was. i realized it after the fact. what a beautiful site in the evening!!! with the weather being so pleasent, the tourists were all out in full force in the evening and with all the monuments all lit up at night, it was just inspiring. kinda cheezy, i know, but i'm really lucky to be living here in washington, dc where all of this is just HERE ... for free (sorta).

sleep is a wonderful thing. amazing, though, how i never manage to get any. hmm.

after our friday escapades at apex the group just end up ended up home *chatting* the night away. one guy had a birthday and i snuck off to the safeway to buy a cake and ice cream for a *surprise* celebration. imagine the sight of me walking into pseudo-ghetto safeway looking for a cake at 6:30am saturday! the velvet nation party was alright. great dj -- no crowd. they were probably all away at the beach or something. the group ended up at michael scott's ever present afterhours party. i surprisingly had genuine fun and passed the time away making fun of certain individuals there ... not in a mean spirited way ... NO, not at all. ;-) after michael scott kicked us out at around 9am we then jetted on down to apex again to listen to dj joey-o practice on the decks and on the new dj setup he's rigged up for his tea dance next week. it was kinda neat being alone in the club with just about 5 or 6 other buddies listen and dancing. we even rolled out the sofa and chairs from the lounge area onto the dance floor! i ended up getting home around noon and immediately went to sleep. i just now woke up. :-)
