just took a little nap. it's funny how much more you remember when you allow your body to rest. :-)

went to mezzanine last night -- SF's version of velvet nation. it was the first time i've been. i had a blast!!! the music by billy carroll was on the money. very new york - reminded me of *home*. i had a marathon night -- i think i danced non-stop for about 6 hours! the club had an interesting makeup of people. most notable was the over 30% asian mix along with dancing BEARS! imagine that!

it's christmas and new year's time again. my typical old -- let's get depressed mode in full swing! eh -- it's all my own doing anyway. i need to get over it, right???

i spent christmas eve and christmas day all alone in the house in oakland. i didn't call the 'rents. i feel kinda bad, but i'm still having my *issues* with them. once again -- "GET OVER IT!" argh. i think i'm going to make amends with them this new years. yeah -- that's it. i'll go back to dc for new years prior to going to boston.

mike's affairs of the heart seem to be in full swing for some reason lately too. man, i tell you. it's the proverbial, "when it rains, it pours" addage. still going crazy with this online orlando thing (eric). my new york interest is actually still in contact with me (jayme). my west coast acquaintances are at it as well. i even sorta have a blind date tonight too! i think this is the first time in my life that i'm probably actually letting people come into my personal life like this. all new territory. good, right?

it's saturday and i'm back in dc. i traveled across the country to get some paperwork settled in boston but only to find out that my hotel stays weren't booked correctly (or at all!). needless to say, i spent thursday night in dc instead of boston -- thank goodness. i ended up flying up on friday to only really sign a piece of paper and nothing else. information got crossed somehow and i didn't get to see the right people. oh well -- i spent an entire day flying and hanging out at an unknown airport. great!

i'm staying with my good friends david and chip in downtown dc. went to jr's last night to meet up with my pilot friend eric. he's lost a lot of weight ... bitch! i think today will be spent getting my haircut and doing a little christmas shopping -- finally. i'm forever late doing things like that.

went into the office in the AM yesterday to figure out my expenses for my last couple of trips and was pleasantly surprised to meet up with some old crewmembers (adrian, christina, james, and fernando) from dulles. they came to help out as well with station coverage here in oakland. after everyone got settled i played tourguide and showed them around san francisco. we ended up at badlands in the castro, got drunk,and had a ball!

right now we're just waiting for the last few flights to turn and we're outta here. i decided to fly out in the AM with guys to dulles and then connect to BOS from there. i still have to check the loads. i'm pretty sure i'll be alright. i just need to pack tonight for about a week.

just got home from fort lauderdale yesterday afternoon. i didn't sleep the night before because i didn't pack and of course had to go out to coliseum with mark. he hated it - too dark. i loved it - circuit house music and tweekers. of course i didn't participate. :-)

needless to say -- i slept most of the way over to the west coast. we had one stopover in long beach. the fort lauderdale - long beach leg wasn't crowded at all -- i had a whole row to myself. the long beach - oakland leg however was packed! i still slept on both legs tho.

took a nap when i got home and went out to planet big. i hate the music there. met the usual batch of familiar faces -- a lot of new ones too. it's just funny how i only get play there and nowhere else. too bad they're from people i'd rather not know. yikes -- that sounds bad, huh? oh well.

going to enjoy the city today on my day off.

it was gina's birthday last night and she decided to celebrate it with the jetblue gang in south beach miami last night complete with a limo. we had dinner at a place called grillfish and then we tried to get into BED. because our group was so large, we were promptly denied entrance unless we wanted to rent out a *bed* with a 7 bottle minimum @ $160/ea. hmmm --- we decided not to do that and rode the limo again to mango's instead. it was fun but call me jaded or a gay *snob*, but i really don't like going to straight establisments. this whole ordeal trying to get into a club and avoid lines, etc. just got on my nerves. i'm not really into the hip-hop music thing either. it was gina's day and she had fun ~~ that's all that matters!

ended up getting back to the hotel around 4:00 am and back to work around 9:00. i was able to get up early and have breakfast in the lobby, but i'm still kinda tired. this is my last night -- i think i'll make the best of it and go out with the *gays*. :-)

just counting down the days down here ... nice weather, but i just want to go home! tomorrow (saturday) is it for me. i'll probably leave on sunday. we'll see.

in fort lauderdale now. been here for about 3 days and today was my first day back at *real* work. go figure!!! thank goodness it's a nice day today. it rained all day yesterday.

anyway -- yesterday was the big meeting with upper management trying to sort out the so-called demise of my work group. effective in the new year -- my job as it is will no longer exist. i still have a job though -- but no more traveling from station-to-station. anyway -- our last assignment will be the opening of the boston station and they are talking of having us there for up to 8 weeks so i guess there isn't any real rush to figure out where to go. i expressed interest in the corporate offices and they made mention of possible openings in human resources/people and maybe even in training. we'll see.

today i get off around 3pm -- i don't know what i should do for the rest of the day. the hotel got on my nerves because they put a $437++ hold on my check card. not cute. it'll work out in a couple of days supposedly. we'll see about that too.

atlanta is gone and done with ... for the time being. had a final crew luncheon on thursday right after the last flight out at a place called fogo de chao. a yummy brazillian place that served MEAT -- all kinds: top sirloin, filet mignon, chicken, lamb chops, etc. all you can eat and a generous salad bar to boot! needless to say, i ate way too much meat and felt sick the rest of the day. to make matters worse, i had to make some last minute plans on flying out of atlanta that day as well to beat the impending weather dramas to come on the eastern seaboard. it all worked out well -- it just wasn't a comfortable ride due to the crowded flight and weather delays incurred.

spent the whole weekend in maryland and visited my cousin/old roommate. long and eventful weekend -- let's just say i had a crackin' good time. i just got home and am beat. i think i'm going to take a long sleep!!!

it's running towards the end of my term here in atlanta. as we were walking out of the airport, we saw a car rental bus catch on FIRE in front of the building. hmm. i guess it's time to go, right?

something me and my roommate mark did at work while just putzing around. it's amazing how communication software can allow you to *share* applications and such on the computer. we drew the figure together on separate computers. we were totally bored. i think you're going to need netmeeting to read it.
