okay -- why is it the only time i have to write here is when i'm coming home from the clubs or something? oh well -- went out to apex this evening. super bored! just hung out with friends and watched people.

the new job duties at work are turning out great. i actually have my own desk and phone extension now! doesn't sound that exciting but it is kind of a big deal considering the makeup of the place i work at. the new duties will be interesting too. i have a lot of work cut out for me from basic filing and organizing to taking care of payroll and even partial budgeting. that'll be interesting -- especially when i can hardly take care and budget for myself! lol.

oh yeah -- i think this would be a good weekend to visit the 'rents. oops -- been here in the dc area for over a month and haven't said hello to them. my bad.

i'm such a fucking mess. i think i lost the charger to my phone. ugh. i'm tired. can't sleep right now. this sucks.
329 am Tuesday 4/21 ~ somewhere over utah (i think)

Another long distance weekend. Just flew back into Oakland to get some clothes and stuff. The big move is still progressing albeit just really slowly. I think on this leg I was able to fill up my suitcase with normal "business casual" clothes. You never know when you will need it - jeans and t-shirts will only go so far, right? Oh yeah - I brought more shoes too!

Thank goodness this flight back to IAD is booked only to 75+ customers. My flight on Friday was booked solid and I actually had to jumpseat. Not fun especially on a transconinental flight. I technically would have had a seat but there were other standbys listed ~ a party of two (a man and his 5 year old daughter). There was only one seat left and of course instead of splitting them up or making the man be late for work I was the better/good person and let them have my seat. Let's see how far that gets me, right?

i just got back from a friday night/morning at APEX. tony's away. everyone that i normally hang out with wasn't there. rommel drug me out -- but not against my will either. i had fun. danced a little bit and even saw a coworker, cutie rolando. it was all good. the most interesting thing to note was that rommel introduced me to a whole new set of people that i just wouldn't have seen myself fraternizing with at all otherwise ... the little circle of trannie asians and their *friends*. trurns out that most of them were filipino and were actually really nice! go figure. i'm really bad when it comes to hanging out with the other RICE people. i need to lighten up i guess.

who would've thought i'd be playing with the *big boys* in the party scene in dc? i mean, i really don't *play* but i tend to hang out in the same arenas (clubs, bars, after-hours parties, etc.). this past weekend was the topper i think. after sunday mass, we ended up a someone's house (a regular hangout) until about 5am monday morning! believe it or not, i wasn't a mess, either. go figure. on monday i even got my laundry done. anyway -- back to work today -- it kind of hellish. they put me back on the ticket counter (as a lead) after about 2 months NOT working it at all. my luck today -- we encountered the effects of major delays in new york and south florida. i didn't get to leave until about 11:30pm. i have my interview with my general manager for the admin. job at IAD/Dulles. i don't know what to think now. i'm kind of over this whole thing trying with finding a better place at my company. we'll see what's in store for me. all i know is that i have to be at the airport by 8:15am or so. that's NOT going to be cute with maybe only 4 hours of sleep. i guess i better start getting some NOW.

exhausted. nothing more i can say. worked the ramp the whole week and of course last night, friday, (my technical 'thursday') i decided to hang with the boys at apex. it went into after hours and closed down at 4am. afterwards it was after-after hours at tony's place. of course since i was staying with him, i had to play along ~ not that i minded ~ until about 8am! went straight to work and now i'm done! needless to say, i didn't sleep at all last night/this morning. i did, however, manage to put in an hour on the bus coming here and maybe another hour (broken up) lying down in a bag cart in the bagroom. nation tonight? maybe. sunday mass in the AM. yes!

it was cold and a little bit rainy today. funny, though, how i made it a point to work *inside* today in the airport bagroom (aka *the dungeon*). i actually got a pretty good workout. i'm sure by summer's end, if i keep it up -- i'll have FIERCE biceps. LOL.

just trying to get through spring allergies -- i didn't think they affected me this way during this time of year. i thought i was more affected by the fall season -- oh well. sneezing, stuffiness, sinus headaches -- it's all the same!

i have way too much time on my hands ...

i'm just standing here at the gate cruising the other airline rampers and various construction workers milling about the concourse! hmmm -- nice ones today. ;-)

corinne, one of my supervisors here, talked some sense into me. she basically said that i was a drama queen and that i should get over it! (and she was blunt about it too!) DC is my home afterall and that this station is the place that i truly belong. after all, i was one of the original members that started it. no matter what other opportunities that are out there, i have my roots firmly imbedded here. apparently the only thing that was keeping me in oakland was the cheap rent. nothing else really. i could always visit if i wanted to, right? now, the most pressing matter at hand is where i will need to live. i need to start asking around.
okay -- back to work in dc. the next flight is arriving in about 2 hours. once i got off, they had me help immediately on the ramp -- man it was cold!

long distance commuting from california for work most definitely will not work out for me in the longrun. moving back here is still getting me down. i've got to wake up and really think this thing out:

(+)
- hanging out with old buddies again
- being closer to my family (although i don't hardly visit them ever)
- going to familiar places and actually have people know you (i used to be an 'a-lister' at one point in the dc nightlife scene
- being in familiar areas and surroundings
- (hopefully) a new job opportunity in jetblue that would be on a regular schedule with weekends off!

(-)
- moving all of my crap back from california to dc
- 1hr. + commute each way to the airport from dc compared to the 30min. max for bus and rail transfers (the airport is only 4 bart stations away from my apartment)
- $300 dollar rent out of the question
- not being able to cultivate new friendships in the west coast
- more *gay* things to do in california than in dc (not just sex per se, but ... it is in the san francisco bay area!)

if i think any harder, my brain will hurt. i'll put this to rest for the time being.
(3:35am PST, in the air over west virginia, jetblue flight #318 oakland - washington-dulles)

i just woke up after a long nap. i barely made this flight anyway because crazy me waited until the last minute to get going. i got to the airport so late that i had to leave my luggage behind - hopefully mark got my message to have them sent along on the next flight. (whoops - announcement from the flight deck - we're about to land in dulles shortly) the delayed luggage shouldn't since i have to report to work right after i land anyway - i just have to buy a new toothbrush!

did the downtown oakland thing today -- something i never do -- funny that when i'm about to leave it all behind, that i start something new and somewhat interesting. i walked down to chinatown and had a good and cheap lunch at some divey restaurant. since it's sunday -- it's a busy market day so the streets were just full of people. after that i walked a few more blocks down the road and ended up at a place called JACK LONDON SQUARE. i have no idea who he was, but he was important enough to be named for the city's harbor/embarcadero area. i just stopped into barnes and noble, bought a book and some magazines and my (of late) my usual starbucks triple venti vanilla latte. yummy. i spent the better part of 2 hours just lounging about enjoying the nice, yet, overcast sunday afternoon near home.

mark, the roommate, just left for work. looks like i'll be going out and getting messy on the town by myself. woo-haa.
finally arrived in oakland early this morning ... around 3am est. sily me, i thought i'd save a few bucks and not take a taxi because the BART is closed by that time. i ventured onto the the regular actransit public transportation bus. little did i know, the bus routes have changed and i ended up totally someplace in oakland that i didn't want to be at around 1am in the morning! i managed my way home though.

other than that drama -- i course i go through more ... ended up losing my oakley sunglesses at work. worked right up to the end before boarding my flight because we were short handed at work. didn't realize it until right before they were going to shut the door of the aircraft! i've had such crazy bad luck with my big ticket personal items lately. first the burberry coat and now my shades. i got an email this am, though, that someone found the glasses. yayyy.

my rommate mark has to work today. i have just one day to myself. i'll find SOMETHING to do. ;-)

tony and the boys just stopped by before continuing on with their weekend events. i have a feeling after the clubs close down, they're all going to sketch out here. i'll work it in as an alarm clock of sorts and get ready for work. i'll need to pack for my trip back to california as well ~~ too lazy to do it right now. by the time the boys come back, i'm sure the sun will be creeping up by then. that should be some kind of incentive.

these party boys just keep going and going and going. after this past week -- i'm going to lay low. it's definitely for the better.

i'm such a geek. i spent the the better part of an hour trying to configure a dedicated email address for this blog using my dedicated domain. it's all on yahoo so it was through a whole lot of trial and error (mostly error). it's working now ... i think.

it was raining ALL day long today. my luck, i was working on the ramp in the cold at that. i survived. nothing else new except that i spent almost $10 on starbucks coffee today. i need to stop.

i'm done for the day!!! the thought of coming back here to DC permanently is sinking in deeply right now. i'm leaning towards the "not happy with it" feelings right now. i told my roommate i'll probably find out by the middle of the month before i figure things out. if i end up moving back to oakland -- i'll probably drop down to part-time if not quit altogether. it just all matters if this admin. position i'm applying for here in dulles is going to work out. after all -- 3 times (the 3rd job promotion i've applied for in the past 6 months) is the charm, right? gotta catch the bus.
it's raining and i'm working on the ramp today. wet and cold = not cute. i just found out that our next flight is delayed a little over an hour. that gives me a a few extra minutes to myself.
